you should check all the clamps on the tubes, and make sure they are sitting on the piping good they should overlap on the pipping a good bit. the problem might be that at a certain psi, it starts to leak by one of the connections. Flow always travels the weakest paths. As far as the smoke, is it constant blac smoke or during certain times?
