Default 93 auto to 5speed

So I see a lot of people wanting to do a auto to 6 speed but I can't find info for a 5 speed conversion. I have a 93 twin turbo that fell in my lap for a steal. Has some electrical and accident damage. I hate automatic and I know it is pricey to convert but I don't care about that and price won't matter. Does anyone know of a sticky for this or know if it is the same conversion process. A 5 speed is probably cheaper parts wise. Thanks for any info

The conversion process will be very, very similar to the conversion process for a 6spd:
http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/aut...wap/index.html

However, the 5spd can't hold anywhere near the power that the 6spd can. This is why the conversion you're suggesting isn't discussed. The 5spd can barely hold the power of a bpu'd TT. If you single turbo the 2jz-gte, the 5spd will be one of the first weak points you'll have to deal with in the driveline.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
