Default Usdm 2jz?

Hi guys. My name is andrew. I own a 1981 280zx turbo. I intend to swap in a 2jz gte. I want it to be twin turbo, vvti equiped, and USDM spec. Where can I find one? All eBay has is jdm spec. I'm willing to settle for a jdm if I have to, but my heart is set on usdm. Anybody have any info?

The VVTi was never 'USDM spec' for the 2jz-gte. You must choose one or the other, not both. 1998 is the last model year the Mkiv Supra Turbo was imported into the US, and VVTi wasn't put on the Mkiv Supra until '99 in Japan. Also, no other Toyotas were equipped with a 2jz-gte (eg. The Aristo was also only available in Japan - it's USDM-equivalent is the Lexus GS300, which was only available in an n/a 2jz-ge. The same is true for all other 2jz-equipped Toyota/Lexus models: SC300, IS300, etc.). In other words, eBay only has jdm spec vvti 2jz-gte's because a USDM spec vvti 2jz-gte doesn't exist.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
