Default New to Supras

Little Background:
Recently purchased a 1990 toyota supra turbo, targa top, auto tranny in november of 2006
Paid around 3500 and soon after had to replace the engine, ordered a jdm engine from osaka, btw done use them they sent me a engine with a blown head gasket and only refunded me 400$ whole thing was 1100 or so after shipping. So finally after all work i get to drive it in like feb of 2007 lol. Loved the car since day i saw it though something about that style. Other than mechanical issues car looks great on the inside and out, no dings. Color is faded on bumpers although this is normal.

New Problem:
Take my car to toyota because car would register boost and not gain anything extra from it. Toyota could not tell me what it was >.< looked around online a bit and determined the wastegate was probably stuck open, i assume this wouldnt be a big deal, but was told i needed to replace the turbo.....

So taking the turbo from my old engine, i thought maybe this would work, but ofcourse not it had too much play on the turbine and would scrap the turbo housing when u turned it. Decided to try this place since i am driving up to houston area soon and would be able to see facilities before handing over my turbo, also saving freight charges http://www.turbochargers.com/ (anyone have any experience with them or comment?)

It states this If you turbo requires only a basic rebuild (bearings, seals, balancing, and cleaning), your price is $275 plus freight. However i dont kno if that will all it will cost for fixing my problem hehe, Depending on price i decided to go ahead and upgrade turbo to be good up too 500hp since i want to eventually obtain 400-450 out of my car. Upgrade now save cash later? hopefully anyways

Things done so far:
Low mileage JDM swap
Metal Head Gasket
K&N Filter

Things After turbo:
IC Piping kit (http://www.cooleeze.com/browse.php going with ceramic coating)
And then replace all the vac lines with http://www.suprasport.com/HoseTechni..._p_86-180.html
Also need a BOV however dont know much about whats needed, the new IC pipe has option of where to place the flange and what flange, so whats good placement? any i just have it welded on and im good to go or??

Dont know where to go from there, prolly start thinking about the exhaust system at this point.

BTW i am not a mechanic in anyway, and having tried several places that do crap jobs since they have no knowledge of my vehicle i have decided to become a mechanic..... lol so i will be replacing the turbo and will probably need lots of help

Already have learned alot from browsing your forums for past 3 weeks and decided to finally post and let u guys know what my situation is and to thank everyone

I always hear people talking about using a lexus AFM(if i recall correctly)
What are the benefits in this also will it work all the way up to 450hp? paired with 550cc injectors will work for my goal of 450? Anyone have a brand to suggest for the injectors?

Or will i need a full fuel package all at once with the injectors and AFM?
this a good deal http://www.suprastore.com/fuelpackages.html ?
rc 550cc, rc clips, wal gss341, aei 13109, tms fprgauge, tms 7m fprkit
all for 860

Anyparts i need to think about replacing that wont hold up under the strain?

i dont really like the look of the single tip, would like to keep with the stock style with the two tips, unless there is a increase in performance out of the dragger or nrs type exhauhst

So for Down pipes which would be better? Not sure if i should go with the Titan and eliminate turbo elbow, worth the extra cost, or buy a turbo elbow later? Also if not Titan, is the Tanabe better since it doesnt have the Flex Joint and worth extra cost? any input would be very helpfull

Tanabe Downpipe for 1986-92 Supra

Part # Ta T50033 The Tanabe 7MGTE downpipe is a direct bolt-on unit that is similar in design to the RT model. It has 3" constant diameter with the dirct-fit flanges for the turbo-elbow outlet and 2nd cat inlet. This pipe is stainless steel and *fully polished* to a chrome-like finish. This unit does *not* have a flex joint.MSRP $340.00 Your Price $289.00

Titan Downpipe with Turbo Elbow for 1986-92 Supra Turbo - Free Shipping Part # TMS DP MK3 One of the first 'complete' downpipes in the market, the Titan downpipe mates right onto the back of your CT-26 exhuast housing, *eliminating* your turbo-elbow. This provides high flow out of the turbo, promoting faster spoolup.

O2 sensor port is provided. This mates to your second-cat location. Mandrel bent, 3", stainless steel pipe.

MSRP $429.00 Your Price $399.00

HKS Downpipe for 1986-92 Supra Turbo

Part # HK 3103-RT003 A downpipe is the section of exhaust which comes directly off of the turbine. The factory downpipe on the 3rd generation Supra Turbo is very restrictive and is a horsepower and torque sucker of power. This 3" diameter HKS downpipe replaces the pre-cat and uses a mandrel bent tubing to offer superior exhaust gas energy flow and therefore creates horsepower. 20HP gains have been noted with this modification alone. This bolts up to your factory exhaust or any aftermarket 3rd generation Supra exhaust system like those offered by HKS and Blitz.MSRP $235.00 Your Price $189.00

Complete list as far as i know for what i want to do and prices. Just a question about it, how much HP gain with this setup should i expect, when boosting only to 12psi(dont wanna blow my engine ;0) ... Will the Auto Tranny hold up? waht about the engine(stock except for metal headgasket)?

Basically going to do it in 3 seperate upgrades

Top Radiator hardpipe cooleeze
Turbo Inlet pipe cooleeze

3rd
