i cant say anything about the pulleys, as ive never used them, but in theory it would remove some rotating mass, however i dont hear to many mkiii owners using them... on the other side, i have an aluminum fidanza flywheel, and you can feel a weight diference between stock.
edit: as for the ac, it creates relatively no load on the engine unless it is engaged, so as long as its off the pulley will spin freely
