You don't need to hold the outside handle if you use the power lock switch. Also.... There is a switch in the ignition lock that won't let you lock the doors electrically if you leave the key in the ignition. That switch is very sensitive (probably worn out a bit). Mine sometimes WILL allow it to lock doors when key is still in ignition.
