Unlocking doors..

When ever i lock my doors from the inside and close them they unlock and i have to lock them using the key. Any clue as to why that is?

umm when u lock the doors from the inside do you hold up the door handle before you shut the door? cause it wont lock if i am correct unless you hold up the door handle when u shut the door

yes, you jave to hold the door handle up when you close the door, if you lock it from the inside

its kinda like an anti-idiot safety feature
so you wont accidentally close the door and lock your keys inside

You don't need to hold the outside handle if you use the power lock switch.
Also....
There is a switch in the ignition lock that won't let you lock the doors electrically if you leave the key in the ignition.

That switch is very sensitive (probably worn out a bit). Mine sometimes WILL allow it to lock doors when key is still in ignition.

here's the deal

1)if you lock with with the power door locks or manually with the key in the ignition,
if your sensors are still working right
it wont let you lock the door at all, itll unlock the door as soon as you lock it

2)if you use the power door lock from the inside (as in you press the button)
you dont have to hold the handle up when you close it

3)if you manually lock the door (as in you used your finger to push the thing)
you will need to hold the handle up

best case scenario, jus use the key
i never had a supra with the power locks working properly

I have the power locks and the key is out of the ignition way before I lock the doors and it still unlocks every time I guess I will have to try holding the handle up when I close it but I can’t try that until I get it back from paint later this week.

(Sorry about the slow reply I was on vacation)

Thanks.
