Stuck Lifter.. or so i think

Well I have decided to rebuild it. Its nice owning the fastest car of all my friends... and the ladies love it

. Seeing as how i have already done the head gasket before I think im just going to pull the engine and do it outside the car.

Has anyone pulled one of these before, leaving the tranny in the car? Because I have big hands and that was my biggest problem before was fitting around shit.

Also I won't have to have the head milled again would I?

Wont need the head milled again unless you have been putting some seriouse stress and heat on it. Double check it with a straight edge ,but you should be alright. As for removing the tranny or not ,I always leave it in ,others swear by taking it out. It all comes down to personal preference I suppose ,but I have large hands also and found access to the mounting bolts on the back to be fine with the head removed.

tear apart again ? did you ever remove the main crank pulley ?

yeah but did you ever loosen the main pulley on the crank ?
it's a MF to tighten and makes crazy noises when the engine is running if loose

Would that also cause the car to run like crap, because when I had to gimp it home I couldnt go over 2.5-3k RPM and max of 45mph with absolutly no get up. It felt like I was driving a 5 speed oversized golf cart.
