Default Alrighty Fella's..., 1 more time

Alright. I got my 91 up and running today. I let it idle and found 1 hose I missed a clamp on. I had to kill it to go and get some gas because I only had enough for 1 heat cycle.

Now, I came back and put the gas in and the thing cranks and sounds good.

But...., If I even bump the peddle it will stall out. And now it's start and slowly dies.

It seems like it may be getting too much air, but I am unskilled in this area.

Any comments or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Gents.

How high can u rev it?
2k? Maybe the maf,
Or the idle air control hose is pinched or disconnected,
Try checking those first

I can rev it to 3.5

When it comes down it catches at 12ish and idles a bit and craps out.
Also while it is reving it kind of snap crackle poppy. If you can follow that.

Edit: upon crank it'll rev just fine a side from the crackle.
It turned over first try and it sounds strong. It didn't sputter or cough.

What happend before you got to the point you're at now? Did you swap any parts out? I would double check the throttle position sensor and the timing. Sounds like some simple thing is just a little off. Only about 1,000 "simple" things to check

I know.

I just don't know where to start.
Fuel pressure regulator...., I think all you can do is replace it.

Maf....., I don't know jack about adjusting the thing.

Where I was at before this is the car has been down with a bhg and has recently been replaced. The machine work was done and all of the things like the starter and alternator are all new.

I'm kind of at a loss here. It started this morning and ran long ebough to get up to operating temp and then dies.

If I plug the maf up it kills it.

Do you guys think a need a new fuel pressure regulator or do ya think the problem lies in the maf.

Do you have any codes? I also had the same problem with my JDM motor but I had three problems with it. They are

-the AFM was bad(code 31)
-the TPS was no good(code 41)
-the CPS was not installed right

I pulled the diagnosis box and it's coated with some kind of shmaz and looks utterly filthy.

I went and picked up a new fuel pressure regulator. It's a mr. gasket brand that is adjustable. It has no vac line so I don't think it will work.
I'm not sure though.

I may have to hook it upelsewhere.

That's just grease to keep moisture off the contacts. Just pretend it's not even there and run your jumper wire like normal.

Can someone explain to me how the heck the maf just goes bad, or if it even does. I can see how a fuel pressure regulator can clog up if it sits long enough with gas in it. The gas will caramelize over time and plug it up.

But still the car will run until it's warm and the it'll then it will die, But if the maf gets hooked up in the interim of that time frame. The engine just says fuck it.

Also I'm sorry, I'm wound up and I don't want you guys to think I'm giving you attitude. If any of you guys took me as hostile I apologize.
I appreciate all you help.

You cats ROCK.

Does anyone possibley have a used maf sensor??? For a 91 model. I sure hate to spend 400 bucks on one.
