I doubt anyone took you as hostile. We all know the frustration when you get so close but can't clear that last hurdle. Before you run out and buy a new MAF box I would recomend you get those diagnostic codes. Double check the vaccume lines for leaks ,check that your timing belt in installed to correct tollerance ,and the distributor is properly set.

31 afm sensor

24 intake air temp signal

Is it me or are these signs all pointing to the maf???
The air temp sensor plugs into the under side of the accordian tube, yes?

If that's that, I know what's up with it.
I still don't know crap about the afm. I was even calling it the maf.
I have clearly been in the garage waaaaaaay too long with this one.
I have built my own, incorrect vocabulary.

I'll try and not type so messily in the future, I read back.
I hate typos.

You're still doing it. You even had me ,at least we all knew what we meant. I just have a hard time seeing the AFM randomly going bad. I would like to see some more opinions. Where is nickleye when you need him?

It's priced at o"riellys at 175.

I wonder if I can get some kind of rebuild kit???

EDIT: I wouldn't ask all of this but my dealership is closed today.

I really appreciate it supra dupra. LOL that was one I thought of until I was hit by supramacist. I'm rambling.

Did you drop the AFM while you had it off during the build? Did you drop something on the AFM?

Nothing like that. It was secure and out of the way.

Test the AFM per the TSRM: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...ection=FI&P=94

Then if that all checks out test lines E2 and VS from the AFM harness connector to the ECU connector for excessive resistance.

No problem and no idea, my '88 TSRM has it. It's in the EFI section.
