Default A/C question

I have a 90 NA the air worked great untill yesterday, the clock quit the same time. The switch in the cilmite control seems to work,it still turns on the cooling fans(radiator) but won't engage the clutch.I put a volt meter on the a/c plug no voltage. When I put 12 volts to it the clutch engages.I have checked all the fuses yes even the one on the passenger side for the a/c they are all good.Would I risk damaging something if I wired the compresser to 12 volts with a toogle switch,or is there something I am missing?

Please Help!

Check the C/B near the 10A A/C fuse. and dont wire it the way you wanted to because their is too many sensors that the a/c compressor runs off of.

Maybe you just don't have the rest of your car set up. I mean no balls is a steretypical statement and some of our na/s DO have testicular fortitude.

Thank you very much.

Thae ac weight reduces by 50lbs then the back seat delete. But ofcourse those things are your call I was just offering suggestions.

If you are outta freon, the clutch on the compressor will not engage.

YOu can charge it yourself if you use r-134a. You can get the kit and the spray at your local parts store. That will atleast tell you what's up if that's the case.

I was just giving you a hard time about deleting your system.

Not always but that is probally it. It could be a low pressure cut off switch problem.
