A friend of mine i shaving some troubles with a 91 Turbo he just bought. He is thinking it could be the security system, but he's not for sure. I've done several searches and can't come up with anything helpful, I could be searching for the wrong terms or something, I'm not sure.

But anyway, the problem is, when he tries to start the car it won't crank. The key will not turn to the START position on the ignition and the radio says HELP on the display. He just recently bought this car, and had to tow it from the person he bought it from because he didn't know what was wrong with it either. Any sugestions?

well he might be right with the security system, i mean if it is saying help on the radio, the security systems may have shut the car down. so it may not be any trouble codes or anything, but checking the battery, and making sure its fully charged, and trying to get a trouble code pulled is an excellent idea. I might be able to go talk to my dealer who i bought my MKIII from and see if they have any idea as to if that would be the security system or not, don't know if you tried your dealer or not.
