Default tranny problems

no it wont fit. an 82 supra has a w50 trans and any 86.5 until 92 non-turbo supra has a w58. look it takes a while for the clutch to align the correct way. so you might have to keep turning the car on and off about 50 times. (i have the haynes manual and it was a troubleshoot problem). try it out but an 82 is not the way to go. if you were to get a new tranny get an r-154 from a turbo model. they have way more power and they have lsd.

look you can go to any junk yard and find an 87-92 supra. you can grab the tranny and rebuilt it yourself/ it is not as hard as you are making it. here in chicago you can find them anywhere. so just try looking in your local junk yard or try craigslist.com and post a wanted ad there.
