Default 1990 7mge Ecu, Auto Transmission

I'd a mechanic replaced blown engine with used JDM 7MGE engine. I was able to start the engine before the swap. But the car won't start anymore. My mechanic says the ECU is bad.
How can I test the ECU ? Has anyone had similar experience ?

I have a 87 N/A that I blew the engine on. Got a JDM 7MGE and did the swap myself. Finally, after several months, it's running poorly (which I'm sad to say is an improvement). Biggest problem I've had was that I had the distrbiiutor in wrong (oops) and now am having a power issue to my ECU. Pretty sure it's bad grounds, as the engine still runs but am getting code 11 (disrupted power to ECU). Anyway, check vacuum lines as that'll throw off how the engine runs, and your connections to your ECU, especially the grounds throughout the car. Also might wanna make sure all of your connectors to the wiring harness are still intact under the hood.
