Default Rear End.

We are getting a chattering noise coming from the back. my guess is that we have a bushing out in one of the a arms?? not to sure. dont really know how to check it yet. or could it be the actual differential is lose and moving when we start to let the clutch out?? any help is appreciated!! also, if it is bushing, were can i get a new upgraded set??

Hmmmmmmm....., well the chattering could be caused by the clutch when you engage it. When that happens, it causes all sorts of shaking and might cause the exhaust pipe/muffler to hit somewhere under the car. It could be the transmission mount rattling, especially when they get old and oil softened. Checking the rubber bushings on the rear should be easy enough. Just jack up the back of the car, jack stands, creeper, flashlight and look at all the suspension end links. If you see any rubber sticking out of a bushed end or if one looks way different than the others, then you may have a problem. You can use a large screwdriver to pry against the end links to see if there is any play or not.

You might even have a broken engine mount that will allow the engine to lift on one side and rattle up against the tunnel.

Good luck and let us know.
