Question head gasket gone would it give oil in turbo intake

I know that my head gasket has failed , and have already removed the cylinder head , but the thing that is troubling me is , when i removed the intake pipe off the turbo , it was filled with oily gunge , this seemed to go to the inter cooler , there was no smoke coming from the turbo when it was running , even though it didnt run very well but that is how i bought it , I have had a lot of supras before , both Na and turbo , all i might add with either head gasket , or big end failure , strange then that i am still buying them , am i an old fool , or just like working on them as i an familiar with the engines .Anyhow if anyone can help on this matter i would be grateful

When my seal on the cold side of the turbo failed it accumilated oil in the intercooler and piping also if you have alot of blowby it recirulates oil through the valve covers and into the acordian pipe and into the intercooler those are two of the main causes

yep it's the pcv causing the oil in the intake and intercooler, i wouldn't worry as long as it's not bucketloads of it

you can install a catch can to minimise as suggested above

Wink pcv

that is all very helpfull, but what is a PCV , and where is it situated , it sounds like pressure control valve, but that is a guess at the abreviation, anyhow i have to go to work now as the concrete won't pour itself ,will visit site when i get back, thanks again ,still can't get over a woman helping me with a supra ,dosn't happen in this part of the world [North east England], but thanks again.If you are a woman?

LOL yep i'm a GIRL!! hehe

pcv = positive crankcase ventilation

it's the vapours routing back to your intake and collecting which then turn into oil

on your cam covers you have a two pipes that join to each other and route back to the intake hose

put a catch can in the middle so the cam covers vent to the can then put the other pipe back to your intake and hopefully it will minimise it

Thumbs up cylinder head

Well i'll go to the foot of our stairs , i have told all the lads at work , that a woman [girl] has given ME yes ME , advice and backed it up with the facts about a toyota supra , they nearly dropped their shovels , with laughter and did'nt believe me , so they got a slap.But seriously thanks again for that ,even though i have been wounded in the technical area , you learn something new every day , maybe if you get stuck i can help you out and return the favor , but it seems hardly likely unless you have a mental block , thanks again and all the best ---- Karl
