I've sen a lot of weird shit happen on cars, but not your problem.
If it were mine (n/a motor), I would bring the cylinder up to TDC (using the distributor to make sure). Then I would use a punch & hammer to knock out(into the engine) the ceramic that remains. Then I would use an 'easy out' to remove the remaining threaded part from the head. There are several kinds of removers. I would 'try' the common one first, as it is the cheapest. DON'T turn it so hard that IT breaks off inside, as you will never get that out. Also, soak the parts with WD40 real good for a couple hrs before starting. Do this now !
