No you can put the whole car on jacks. It's actually safer. No wheel chocks to worry about, car won't roll, etc... Working under a car with just the JACK is unsafe at best, and deadly at worst... Always use jack stands...
so to recap, 4 2 ton jack stands = 8 tons of holding ability. 1 2 ton jack = only 4000lbs for SHORT periods of time. |
