Default Possible overheating?

I have a 1986 Toyota Supra NA and I've been having some problems with the cooling system. We've replaced all of the radiator hoses, and I have no leaks. But my coolant resoivar is to the full level, but my need engine coolant light still comes on. Maybe I have a radiator leak? Or should I just dump some coolant right into my radiator? Please help

The light on your dash only goes on when your reovoir is empty. If its full, Either the switch or wiring attached to it is not working right. And yah, fill up your radiator. The resovoir should ideally be about half full when the car is cold, If it gets higher or lower you have a problem. Try these out first. You never mentioned if the temperature on your car goes up or down...So i cant give you any advice on that part.

Haha, alright, I figured it out, stupid me! I didn't snap the cap on...oops...that would explain the sudden loss of fluid

That could always be a problem too. Did your light go out? or it was the resovoir cap the one that was not on? I dont think the resovoir cap not being on would matter, Because its only got water flowing to it when there is pressure under the regular radiator cap. It has a little valve.

Well, whatever it was, after a good test drive, the problem is fixed. Thanks for your help!
