Haha, alright, I figured it out, stupid me! I didn't snap the cap on...oops...that would explain the sudden loss of fluid

That could always be a problem too. Did your light go out? or it was the resovoir cap the one that was not on? I dont think the resovoir cap not being on would matter, Because its only got water flowing to it when there is pressure under the regular radiator cap. It has a little valve.
