Default mk3 supra NA vs. Mitsubishi 3000GT NA

Just doing a little bench racing. Want to know how close it would be.

My car- Mk3 supra non-turbo
cat-back exhaust and thats pretty much it
automatic transmission

His car- Mitsubishi 3000GT SL the heavier one, non-turbo
1st gen if it matters
Manual transmission
Intake
Cat-back exhaust
racing clutch

i think im gonna put money on it.

Thank You for all replies!!!

who;s heavier tho? dont forget our cars are pretty heavy too

but then again, i guess it all comes down to horses, since you both are driving automatics, there not really that much that can go wrong

The 3000GT is a manual i think its actually lighter too. its FWD

EDIT: Looked up the weight for the 3000GT its about 3300lbs it looks like MkIII's are like a little under 3500lbs

So how bad is this for me

Default What's a 3000GT SL ?

For $30 have fun, but it seems an odd amount to bet and on two non pressure charged cars. But you should get him with just the fluid start and changes they do ( none intended, but it sounds like you're both a bit on the shy side of experianced so he wont make many good shifts. After he's leveled up it'll be closer )

So I bought this old Honda bike, an NSR250. Bit of a street racer, I guess. I'm told they're fast.

Delivering it home with a friend driving the Supra for the first time. I drop gears and make a scream from the twin pipes flowing down this pony's flanks and it takes off like it's tail's on fire.

I look back when the Honda gets to its tap-out and the Supra's only two lengths behind. No one I've let ride my bike has told me its slow, they've all loved the thing. That car is a good thing indeed.

Talking Supra's are not under 3500lbs!!!

I work at a landfill, we have a certified and once monthly checked scale here. It's accurate within 20 lbs. I own two MKIII's, and my 5 spd weighed 3700lbs, and my red 88 weighed 3680lbs. I would put money that because he is lighter....he may take you off the line.

Our Supra’s, which art in the driveway,
Hollowed be thy power, thy mods are great, thy speed endless,
On the road or at the track. Give us this day free of cops,
And forgive us our impound charges, as we forgive those who are slow.
And lead us not into speed traps, and deliver us from the interceptors,
For thine is our car, the power, and the glory…forever and ever….amen.

We don't have that much money so we are just betting $30.

I have heard that he is a pretty good driver but i have never ridden in his car

Haha I asked him the samething when i saw his car "whats a 3000GT SL"
He said it was the sport luxury model or something. It just has all the "options" on it i guess

Wow who would have thought the 3000GT was that much lighter. I don't understand it we always call them fat pigs but actually their the lighter ones.

Looks like i could be out off $30, dang it
