well, heres how it started. i bought a 1994 chevy caviailer for $900.00 USD, this cavie had a supercharged 3.1 ltr V6 full body kit, rims, ext. traided that for a 1994 Ford Explore XLT, then that same day traided it for my 1989 Targa Top Turbo MKIII Supra 5-Speed. best traid of my life, that same day, took it to a sponser of my car club, (the car was totaly stock befor i got it) i got turbo back Magnaflow Exaulst done. and K& N custom built cold air kit. but....i have started haveing overheating issuess  , i have tryed everything. i have changed thermastats, radator caps, radator hoses, water pump, all of it. what could it be? please please please let me know. thanks

well i have tryed that and it didnt do anything for it. it ran a little cooler for a short peried of time. but outher then that it didnt help. but thanks to some outher threds in this forum, i think i have a lead on it. i have noticed i dont have heat, also that my HCV (heater control valve) is not opening. so i am going to bypass that and see if it helps. once i do that i am going to see. if that helps i will let yall know for anyone in the futer so that they will know. thanks for your info so quick.

i dont think your car would over heat do to the HCV my was broken for about a week and i had no problems with it over heating until after i did the bypass. when you do the bypass id sugggest going with some new heater tube clamps cause when i did mine the factory clamps didnt fit tight enough and i kept leaking colant all over till i bought new ones. for the over heating problem itself have you check if you Head gasket is blown? Thats a common problem with the supras

check out the "my car is overheating" in the faq's... and yes a head gasket is a possibility

have you burped the cooling system yet?

if you are planning on high hp i would suggest a metal head gasket with arp head studs and get your block and head machined as close to single digit RA numbers as possible... the mhg will rely on a perfect finish

good luck

oh one thing i forgot to m.ntion... you need to check your radiater to see if the antifreeze n the water were equal tho...if you have water more than the antifreeze....n little of antifreeze than that can be a problem too...to check if you have a bhg is to open your oil cap n look under the cap or the head valve cover to see if you see any lightbrown or yellingbrown color tho...if there were this color than u were in bid trouble...cause you did bhg tho...so yeah....hope this help too....
