Default More Boost

Ok Guys I am wanting to put a little bit more boost through my stock 87 Turbo, and I know I have to replace the head gasket to a performance to do that, but any other gaskets or seals I have to replace? Also wondering how much PSI a stock Turbo puts out and any recomendatiosn what to run it at with the new head gasket? Thanks
John

standard maintainance and it should be ok...

tons of people say max boost on stock turbo is 15psi, but i disagree, ive killed 2 of them. and then did some research about them..i found out that it does not push any more air at 13 psi then it does at 18psi.. anything after 13 just creates heat and is counter productive...and it starts to overspin at 11 psi, so id stick to 10+ psi on the stock setup..

Default Boost

Ok so 10 PSI Should I be looking at any other seals or is the head gasket the only thing I need other than that and a boost controller.
Thanks guys
John

depends on how much you want to spend. and how far you want to go with it... you will pretty much need a head set , which contains all the other gaskets needed., like head, intake and exhaust and cam seals and valve guide seals, valve cover. ext. ext... its every gasket except the center spark plug wire holder gasket, thats dealer item only.. and when the heads off it can be checked for warping.. bad valves and what your plans may be in the future.. just depends how dependable do you want it? how well the previouse owner took care of it, how many miles on it and such. its alot easier to do stuff like timing belt and waterpump and other belts and tensioner and such while its apart.. and i hate doing things twice...
