hey there, my friend and i are trying to instal a manual boost contoller (ball and spring) so that he will boost more. i thought i would register really quickly on this forum so ask a few questions.

1. according to the gauge we hooked up last night stock boost is 6psi? is this right?

2. what is a safe amount of boost we can run? i was thinking 10psi. his car is completley stock

3. will i need to disable the boost selenoid? is there even one. there was one on my old mazda that i had to unhook. i know absolutly nothing about supras, but have a fair bit of knowledge when it comes to FI.

4. is there a guide to hook up this contoller because i have the boost controller set at 10psi from my old mazda and its still only boosting 6. thanks

replying to this post may be too late
however i want to warn you:
appling more boost without planning will result in a blown head gasket before you know it . and btw a manual controller is fun at first but you'll find boost levels ranging all over the place
using a stock boost gauge is not a good idea it only goes up to like 8 doesn't it ? once you start getting fuel cut off you might want to back off a little . atleast until you have an accurate measurement of boost

6-7 is stock 11 is the safety point. fuel cuts at 12 and turbo runs out o' power at 14. i put a ball and spring in mine and she started to act strange.

sometimes you may have to turn up the boost controller a little more than usual... they differ on different cars

what sort of boost controller are you using?
