I just replaced my knock sensor a few weeks ago. The damn thing is so small, but it cost me $200 for it. In my case, my sensor for some reason was in two pieces. I talked to a few mechanics about it, and they said it would result in power loss. When I got it fixed, my engine light went away, and I noticed a gain in power because it was funtioning properly.
Ebay is a great place for parts. I shop there all the time for aftermarket parts for my car, or replacement parts. ie. hood struts, power window motors. you could always go to a local auto wrecker and see if they have a supra lying around that you could rip parts out of. but i doubt that you wanna take the hours of work to rip out a knock sensor lol. |
