Andy unless you have excessive pressure in your cooling system (due to a blowing head gasket) you shouldn't ever have steam coming out of that hose . . . . so if it's not a BHG it may be the Radiator Cap as has already been suggested.
It is a special dual design, as when cooling down it opens to allow coolant to be sucked out of the overflow tank back into the radiator (if it needs it) . . as well as of course acting as a safety valve and opening if excessive pressure builds up By the way, have you not found the UK Mk3 Supra Forum?

Mine too. Bad freeze plugs and corroded head and gasket. There are differences in water pumps too. Some don't circulate the water very well at all and if there is any air in the system, it expands and blows out the overflow especially if you have a bad radiator cap. What Suprra_girl said was very true. You might want to offer her some of that Caviar you mentioned in your first posting though because she may now a better way to keep it out of your teeth, and if you are off a tooth, then that could mean everything.
Russ Just my opinion of course though............. ![]() |
