Mk3 supra radiator fans

The fan shroud helps most at idle and low speeds where the air isn't being pressed through the radiator. While at idle or moving slowly it's easier for the fan to pull in surrounding air and recirculate a large amount of the hot air in the engine bay. While in a car that is in excellent condition this may not be a problem on a car whose cooling system is running poorly this could be enough to cause a significant overheating problem and may lead to damage. Actually, there are many cars where the fan shroud is an absolute necessity no matter how good the condition of the car.

Yes, the Supra has a lot of fans.

hi attached a picture whats the black thing called that i have circled becuase my car doesnt have one and is it neccessary to have one?

That's the fan shroud. See posts above for explanation of why you should have one
