It depends more on the pressure plate of the clutch and how smoothly the throwout bearing moves. I've been in an N/A with two different OEM spec clutches, the new one was feather light, the older one was pretty firm. The return spring in the pedal assembly could be softened with some annealing. Haven't ever driven an unmodified GTE with an OEM clutch, so I can't really comment there. You could look for a larger master cylinder to swap in.

My old Camaro would have had you screaming in pain... monster clutch, monster grab.

What's wrong with the MR-2? Take off the front hood and mount a seat in the frunk... the other kiddo can sit on the rear deck lid.
