Default na to turbo question(s)? lol

so i put a 7mgte motor in my car it runs and i can drive it but i have some issues.
1. no tach- i think i figured it out to be missmatched wire at the cps
2. engine break up maybe about 4k rpm (not sure no tach)
3. codes 22, 24, 32, 34...
4. poor acceleration im sure is due to #3

...everything i can see is pluged in all my gauges work. i dont have any aftermarket boost gauges or such yet. but it does run. starts and revs fine in neutral but under load its not well. oh and my check engine light only comes on when boost initially starts. if i start it and let it idle no check engine light.

22, 24, 32, and 34 all have ECU on the list. make sure that when you swapped that engine in you grounded that ecu properly. just a thought...

The GTE and GE use different tachometer drive circuits. You can convert from one to the other by replacing a few resistors on the PCB or just locate a GTE tach and swap it in. I've post the details on the modification here in the past, some searching should bring it up... it *might* be in the MKIII FAQ section.

Also of note is that you cannot properly set the ignition advance if there are any diagnostic codes present. Clear the codes, set the timing and then see if the hesitation/break-up is gone.

No, not the chassis ground. Grounds E1 and E2. They're the grounds which connect to the free stud on the lower portion of the intake manifold. There's also a ground on the exhaust side of the head. Make sure they're all clean as possible (sandpaper recommended) and solidly bolted in place... clean the nuts' flange surface too (technically the nuts are single use only but cleaning them works fine).
