yes, get the head machined...and have them chemical bathe it. But, if u go metal, u will probably need the block machined also. Metal hg requires a very smooth surface. like...brand new type smooth. I ended up going with a ishino composite headgasket and arp studs instead of bolts. studs are alot stronger then bolts, and i didnt get the block machined so yea. how much hp are u planning on running?
