Question Lowering Springs? What to get?!

Hey guys! I want to lower my new 88 supra (stock height right now) but i have NO idea how much to lower it! An inch? inch and a half? two and a half inches? how much in the front vs the back?! If anyone on here has pictures of their lowered supra, and spring specs/brand that would help a TON. Thanks for the help guys. ps heres some pics of how it sits now...

does it have the electronic suspension? if so, lowering will be more difficult and expensive.

if just standard suspension, you have a few options. you can get lowering springs and struts to accomodate, or you can get coilovers, or air etc etc.

lots of options. biggest thing to consider is, what do you use the car for. is it a daily that you want a better stance for and a lil better handling? then lowering springs.

is it a high zoot daily with some weekend warrior stuff and maybe a lil track time? might want to think about coilovers then.

air bags are your choice, but they can be time consuming and spendy. although the do offer you a nice ride and the ability to adjust the settings from inside the car on the fly vs the coilovers that you have to get out to adjust.

basically just think how u want it to ride and look. usually for a standard street car, eibach kits are pretty reasonable and they offer a nice aesthetic draw as well as a small handling upgrade. or H&R...just search around on google for lowering springs, youll find some companies and you can call them and ask some questions.

i just want to give it a better stance, and improve the handling a little bit. so springs is the way im going to go... nothing to expensive as im currently going to school...

does anyone by chance have a pic of what a 1" lower, 1.5" lower, 2" lower, and 2.5" lower looks like? im trying to see which ones looks the best and i cant seem to find a website anywhere that has pics lol

just go for about a 1.5 lower. its not so low that you scrape every leaf on the road, but it looks good and it lowers the center of gravity and firms up the handling a decent amount. and as far as cheap, springs arent necessarily cheap, but you do pay for quality. been through the rounds with cheap springs and i definitely wish id spent the money and gotten the quality pieces.

save up and buy the right parts.

I have the eibach pro kit springs that are 1.5 font and 1 rear which looks nice. And then my friend has the H&R Race Springs that are a little lower at 1.6 front and 1.3 rear. Both are reasonable ride heights for a DD and cost around 230 on tirerack.com.

I have never seen a set of springs that drop that low unless they are coilovers and then they should be adjustable. What brand are they? But don't go cheap or you will be sorry. Also if you go as low as you say you will probably have a problem getting the alignment in spec without some aftermarket parts. And don't forget you are going to need new struts also.

i forgot what brand they are, they're usually sell for around $280, but my buddy cut me a sweet deal cause he needed to sell them, so i only paid $180.

what all would i need to get if i couldn't get the alignment correct?

and why would i need new struts as well? sorry, this is the first car I've lowered so i have no idea what all this stuff does lol
