What would be a good standalone to buy?

I switched out ecus and it ran but not great. It revs up to 2500 rpms before idling down to 400 rpms and then barely runs. Giving it gas it has a lot of hesitation.

Check the tps and wiring

I checked the tps and the wiring to it. I also tried adjusting it while it was running, but it didn't get any better.

I had a similar problem. With mine I could not keep the rpms at 1500, and when I took my foot of the gas pedal the idle would fluctuate between 400 and 600 rpms...
I had i bad IAC.

I will try and put a spare iac in today to see if there are any changes.

Since I do not have a vast automotive knowledge, the only thing I can think that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the gaping on the spark plugs? If the gap is not right, could result in a misfire, or no fire at all.. :\
