is it bad to drive without those bushings?
PS IM STILL LOOKING FOR A TRANS MOUNT FOR W58 TRANNY, 87 supra.. NA IF YOU HAVE ONE PM ME |
So I got the new bushings for the shifter, now I'm popping in and out of gears(first and second and once on fifth) and grinded first and second... There brand spanking new...why is it doing this now?
|
id say there is misadjustment but never really worked on these trannys before, had shops rebuild them. check any adjustment you have, all the advice i can give right now :dunno:

im losing pressure in my clutch lines.. when i got great pressure its a great shift..
when i dont.... well yeah haha should i buy all new lines and re bleed the system to correct this? |
im having trouble finding a replacement for the clutch lines...
anyhelp? please |
just go to a parts store and say you need the clutch lines. or take yours off and take them in, they can usually bend the hardlines and get you replacement soft lines when you take them the actual parts.

Props for tackling the swap. Many talk about wanting to do it but I hardly see anyone actually do it.
Braided steel clutch hoses that go from the master to the slave cylinders are available. I believe they're made just for swaps and eliminate the hardline and the hose. I think mine is from Drift Motion. Very happy with it. http://store.driftmotion.com/static/...clutchhose.php |
i was looking at that..
and thank you.. it was hard ass work.. haha its 45$ i dont wanna pay that unless its good, and if it works for the w58 |
Well, my opinion is, it was definitely worth the $45. It fits and looks great (especially if you have other braided hoses) and is of decent quality. Not to mention it solves your clutch hose problem entirely. It says in the ad that it fits r154 or w58 but one phone call to them could confirm that.

ima going to call, hopefully tomorrow hes in and i can get it.(memorial day) if this fixes my clutch problem then damn... ima be reall happy. haha |
i just noticed something on my clutch master and thinking to myself maybe this is why my clutch is being weird...
the over-center spring is used to help the clutch pedal pop back when its over center.. so i push the clutch in. it comes back from the pressure in the master cylinder.. but the over center spring as no effect with the pedal.. i heard its spose to back the pedal back to its original place(which my pedal is not) so i was adjusting awhile and made it so that the pedal stayed dead center when i pulled it back(to where its spose to be) i added a spring the help it get there(barely worked) and still not getting it back enough... my question is this. (i cant adjust it to be over center becuz its already at the end of the push rod.) would i need a longer push rod or clevise to be able to adjust over center, so it will pop back all the way? or is there anything i can do that will help my clutch return and have a better more fuller dis-engage. (it dis-engages but shifting is ruff, like it isnt a full disengage, but it is O.o lol its hard to explain) |
