Default i see

ok then i know form other ppl that the 2jzte is an expensive engine but very powerful, ( my mechanic said he could get me an auto 2jzte for about $1700) and my plan for the car if i keep it is probably go to the 400-600whp. Also i talked to my mechanic today and he found a hole in the bearing under the car so, from the time he poured oil in the car to the time where he sat in the drivers seat the oil poured out.

there was oil in the car, when my brother was driving it, Side note: this stuff only happens when other ppl drive ur car, and told me he saw smoke coming from the drivers side and he pulled off to the next exit of the highway and opened the hood and fire happened. smh Anyway, there was oil in the car i changed the oil this jan. and it never used alot of oil, my assumptions is that the one of the cylinders exploded or something and caused a huge hole in the bearing thats under the car now. The hot oil lands on the slightly exposed wires and caused the fire.

Everyone on here seems to think its a good idea to stick with the 7m jw whats the reasoning behind it?

A 2jz is a very nice upgrade but will cost you alot more than 1700 til you get it installed with everything required. The 7mgte would be your best bet but will still be pricey if you want to go for 400 to 600 whp which is alot taking into account a 15% drivetrain loss. And you will also need the r154 which will probably not come with a jdm 7mgte. So are you doing the swap yourself if you do one and do you still owe the money on the supra?

my reasoning behind it is that a friend of mine fully upgraded and rebuilt a 7mgte and a put a bigger turbo on it..
he smashes on the new corvettes and keeps up with a 2jzte with no problem

to answer your question No im not doing the swap myself i dont have the space or the tools to do it, also im not that confident in my skills to do something as big as a engines swap. i will be taking it tho my friends repair shop (called 3 face racing) i trusted those guys to change a head gasket on my dads toyota lancruiser(paid 1,600 for that). Also i owe around $2400 left on the car loan still so i will keep the car and get a new engine.

My mechanic has found a 1jzte JDM for $1700 and i believe im leaning towards that now. after talking to my mechanic i think the 7m's engine will start off having work done. The head gasket, stand alone, and something else. With just a few pieces swapped on the 1jzte it can produce round 500hp( this is my belief). Just change out the stock turbo for a bigger one, put a standalone unit, and a few others, and the ijzte should be worth it. (tell me if im wrong)
