The 7mgte is lower compression with oil squirters for the pistons and has a block with the ports drilled for the oil lines. Also the manifolds are different as well as a coil packs instead of a distributer. In the end you should go with the most reliable set up for something high stress like drifting.

With the 7mgte u can have the turbo rebuild and upgraded to a 57 trim the ct26 is a good turbo already and then just add a 3" turbo Back exhaust and new inter cooler you will be close to 400hp or more with a fuel system and up the boost

All the drifting and unrelated banter has been moved HERE.

Paintball, this is only part of the picture:

The GTE is also tuned for boost. Stock electronics and just a couple small piggy backs with some tuning can net you 400... The GE is either going to require a swap over to the GTE electronics, a stand-alone engine management system or some much more complex piggy backs in order to tune timing, fuel and boost. The 7M's air flow meter isn't great and the distributor interferes with the turbo's intake. I've been there done that and don't recommend that route to anyone anymore with no regard for their level of experience.

Forged and coated pistons make up for the lack of oil squiters to a degree. Also, make sure you add an oil cooling setup, the GTE has one, the GE doesn't... GTE oil pump too... I'm sure there's much more but I haven't slept so I'll post back if I think on it.
