Blown turbo, need help picking a new one..
So I blew it out.. For sure.. Revv up the engine high enough while under the hood and hear it ziip~ zoom~!

So I was going to need to upgrade it anyways. Let's do it!! What should I upgrade too though? I don't want to spend a bundle! I only have about $900.. I was going to do a down pipe! So maybe I can get a dp and turbo combo from amazon or ebay or something!

Default T4 T04B Turbocharger

is a
T4 T04B Turbocharger

crap compared to a stock ct26??

I am trying to understand all this but after reading so much and looking on supra forums. The different pricing around the web are making things worse. I can get a T4 T04B Turbo for around $200 shipped.

These specs..
Air Inlet 3" Cold Air Outlet 2" Bearing Wet Floating Bearings Oil Inlet 1/8 NPT Oil Inlet Flange Standard T4 Flange HP ~400 WHP Working Pressure: 5-25 PSI Peak Boost Output Capability Compressor .60 A/R Compressor Turbine 1.0 A/R Turbine Compressor Wheel 0.57T Compressor Wheel
Exducer: 2.32"
Mayor:3.00" Turbine Wheel High quality T04B with forged turbine propeller wheel
Exducer: 2.07"
Mayor:2.36" Hot Side 3" V-Band Works for
Perfect for any 4-8 cylinder.

Part #:ETD-TRB-T4-1AR-V

I can get a custom down pipe and all of this installed for $600..

if you go t4 your gonna new to get the t4 adapter for your exhaust header or just get a t4 exhaust header.. good upgrade imo

I would probably go ct-26 57 trim from driftmotion send them your old one and they will rebuild it with gerret internals or if its not rebuildable you can buy one for around 600. 500 if they use the core.

there is a large discussion about using the cx racing turbo on supramania.
also one about monsterpower turbos. the general agreement is.. run it till it blows.. then buy another one there so inexpensive. havent checked the thread in awhile but so far it seems it was a mixed bag. from people stating them crap. to others running 14 or more boost having it for a year or more.
cx racing isnt a drop in. it is not oil and coolant cooled. oil only. so you have to get a bypass hose for it.. that is sold on drifmotion also.

good luck.

Called up the guy at drift motion. He was very helpful. I will be putting in the order for the 57 trim jan. 5th. Then send him the core..

The 57 trim besides being able to take more boost will have a much quicker spool right? See I don't have the boost controler yet, not the fuel upgrades either. I don't want to go messing other things up. I will be installing a 3'' down pipe with the turbo.. I already have a 3'' exhaust. Just a little side note..

yea adam's a good guy
supermania has a whole forum dedicated to driftmotion and their turbos.. check it out.

dude. you wanna see a good power boost w/o spending alot. get a new inter cooler and your turbo. you will see a noticeable difference.
then worry about your downpipe, injectors. and what not.

So I found one on driftmotion. It's a 2.5'' pipe kit. Good for 700whp. $395.. Seems like a good buy, I mean I am already dropping some change there. They seem to be a good source of quality equipment.

Well, this month I can feel fortunate enough to be able to do all the upgrades.. By that I mean..

- Turbo CT26 50Trim Rebuilt from Drift Motion (Good for 375WHP, which is plenty)
- 3'' Custom built down pipe
- 2.5'' FMIC kit from Drift Motion (Good for 700WHP, more than I need)
- AEM TrueBoost Gauge

(This should be $1500 including the DP install by this local muffler shop)

Next month is maintenance month.. Transmission, oil, and radiator fluid changes.
