The speedo cable is in two parts. The short cable can be completely removed from underneath. One half screws into the speedo gear attachment on the side of the transmission. The other end connects to the long cable about 2 feet away.
My speedo stopped working 2 years ago. I checked this short cable first and found it to be broken. I used a cordless drill and the broken end of the cable to verify the long cable was still working. I greased up the long cable as described by other posts, replaced the short cable, which was fairly cheap and still in stock at my local dealer, and got my speedo back. |
