I suggest you replace the stock phillips head cover bolts with stainless steel allen cap screws (6 X 1.5mm thread, 25mm long, 12 qty).
Make sure you replace the bolt seals for all of the cam cover bolts along with the cam cover gaskets. In the event you have not purchased the Cam cover gaskets & bolt seals, you may wish to check out driftmotion.com. They sell the complete set (two cover gaskets & 12 bolt seals) for $21.00 (engine parts section). Compressed air. Hopefully you have a compressor. When you have the coil pack, intake cross over pipe, & throttle assembly removed, prior to removal of the cam covers, blow the top of the engine off very well. Any debris around the base of the cover will fall into the cam gallery. Last but not least, Pink Floyd and cold beer make the whole job go sooooo much smoother. |
Was it this forum that the great debate between copper and Iridium happened?

I haven't heard of any problems with anti seize if used correctly... I use it everytime I change spark plugs; call me crazy but I just don't like breaking the plugs in the cylinder head :nono:

Thanks you guys
thanks guys i already bought the seals today and am going to my work tmmrw to clean all my shit... =D also i think i am going to use anti-seize don't need any issues.

Do the oil plugs also. The 4 plugs on top of the head since they are a likely overlooked place for an oil leak.

Yeah I got rid off mine also since there doesn't seem like any real reason for it.
