mvp motorsport offers a good header.. company took over after the last one went tails up. about 440 for 17 rwhp to an na.. least thats what their claiming.
just a quick hijack along the same topic. Is there any downfall to running an exposed downpipe? eliminating cat back? seems a tad risky to me to just have my downpipe hanging opened like that.. might be worried about critters making their way into my turbo!

and since i already have a muffler(got the car yesterday and it doesn't sound too bad, i think will keep it), do you think it would be beneficial to get 2.5" cat back tubing or just leave that alone since my engines stock except for K&N air filter and just get headers and/or high flow cats?

i wouldnt go above 2.5. I dont know about the low to high rpm.. which one is better for a na supra.. not a clue. I would probably go for the low rpm one, give me a little bit more off the line?

i don't think there would be much of a difference if i just keep the stock 2.25" pipes with the stock engine. i could maybe get a high flow cat instead though and/or headers
well headers that perform at lower RPMs would be better for street use but i saw on here that the headers are for higher RPM's. but there should be the option of both types |

maybe i should just take off the exhaust that my car came with and just go back to the OEM exhaust. I'm afraid it will sound ricer with the "fart cans"

eh no emissions here. good point about the police. can always say.. "on my way to the garage officer!" then go put it back on. lol.
exhaust gas entering the cabin is a good point. will play with it. thanks for the info

I am the owner of the afore-mentioned supra with a pace-setter 2.5'' cat-back exhaust. The exhaust sounds nice, the only beef I had with it is fitment. I bolted it on to my car at home and then I took it to an exhaust shop and paid 30 bucks to have it altered so it wasnt touching anything and to have it welded to the cat. It is definitely not a loud note that produces, it doesn't resonate and it doesn't drone so I like it. jegs.com ( I know ) had the best price on it when I bought it.
IMHO, It is always worth while to do three things to a street car. Exhaust/Header,Cone Filter/MAF adapter, MSD Igntion or other igntion upgrade. Combine these three and you will have a considerbly better running and faster car and if you can keep your foot out of it, better fuel economy too. On the note of short or long tube headers, I am pretty sure all of the headers for the mk3 are pretty close to the same length. there are no shorty headers like youd find for your camaro. A side note: My car originally had no cat on it, i took the on off of my turbo to put on it and my car actually ran better and than not having, revved up a lot smoother under load. if you have any further questions just let me know
