No, it's not normal. and why did you install GTE injectors? You're probably flooding. : p

when I asked if my stock injectors were going to be good enough after a port and polish, I got the answer "they are hard to max out with the 7mge"
the main thing is you don't need more fuel if you don't have the air for the right air/fuel mixture

turbo=forced air

That's not a given you need to tune really... and even running rich it shouldn't be flat out falling on its face at WOT, IMO. Getting black smoke? Have you checked for error codes? Any holes in the intake? Is the AFM in good shape?

Just letting it be known that I've been experiencing this EXACT same problem of not being able to get above 4k rpms. I'm wondering if replacing the injectors would solve this? That was to be my next course of action with my 88 NA since I've tried virtually everything else. The problem with mine is that I have no clue what the guy before me did to the car. It has only 132,000km on it though.

PS. Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but if anyone has any suggestions for our pesky problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Additionally I can add to this thread. My car cuts out at full throttle as well and I HAVE changed the fuel pump, so you can save yourself a few hours of frustration.

The GE injectors are not enough for any appreciable amount of boost... maybe 3 to 4 psi.... What was meant was that even a built up 7M-GE is rarely capable of moving enough air to require larger injectors. That doesn't include N/A-T applications.

So the AFM is new? Does the car choke over 4K regardless of the throttle position or only when floored?
