Thanks for your help ya my cams have too much play in them and my head is in the shop for burnt valves so insted of buying new cams I got some free ones hoping they would work just try to get it back up and running

Burnt valves?! How the hell did you manage that? Too much clearance in the shims won't cause that.. in fact it'd help reduce the likeliness.
