You want to check to see if they are blown n look like they need to be replaced...but if they are covered in oil most likely they have fawled out and need to be replaced if not your going to have poor performance and gas mileage.

Plat tip plugs can not be cleaned - standard ones can but not recommended. Replace them

If oil on Both sides meaning tips - could be when they were removed they were contaminated from top oil – that’s what happened on mine. If tips are dark and burned with lots of deposits then probably leaking valve seals or bad rings
