Default HeadGasket Questions

Hello I have a 87 7mge, Ive torn id down to the head and timing. The exhaust is off the upper and lower intakes are off. Took out #1 spark plug to put at top dead center. Now as far as the timing side whats next. I need someone to turn as I feel for compression right? then I have to mark the cam sprokets some how? Then loosen timing belt, and remove from head? I can see that if its not just right I wont be able to get to the head bolts since Im taking to a machine shop the cams are going to have to come out anyways right? Ive done three headjobs but they werent overhead cams. This is alot harder than I thought it was going to be. So far nothings looks bad or broke. Thats a good sign allthough there is some thick gooey oil coming out of one of the exhaust Ports on the head and the hose coming off the valve cover that goes in right by the filler cap and then looks to run somewhere down to ps pump? is filled with this whiteish greyish grease looking stuff. Those two things kinda worry me. Id like to get the head to the shop monday but down want to screw up the timing belt stuff because the easier that part goes back together the better cause I know hardly anything about timing a car. Help!!!

Ok I got it from alldata if as long as I mark the cam gears marks with the notches on the rear timing cover and set crank pulley to 0 degreess when I put it back it should be close to time. Hope this helps anyone else whos doing one of these I feel stupid now cause its so simple but when youve never messed with it it can seem kinda scary.

Default Injectors

I was cleaning my fuel rail and the injectors and was wondering if there is a lube that is supposed to go on the orings of the injectors?

right now it wont idle on its own...when i start it.. it starts up. then dies unless i give it gas. it will idle on its own when i adjust the idle screw.. but when i do that.. idling starts loping. i'm gonna replace the iacv and see what happens. there seems to be a misfire.. not 100% sure though.. and i gotta replace a knock sensor (getting code 52)... im sure i have the timing dead on.
before it wouldnt drive past 3000rpm (it was in safe mode because i had a huge intake and boost leak)

have you tested the idle air control valve with a multimeter?

no.. i dont have one lol. i have a replacement iacv anyway. it came off a working car.
if that doesnt help... idk what will? my timing seems good, 10*btdc
idk what else would cause it not to idle.. maybe its because i have a code 52 and the ecu retads timing? idk if that should affect it
