Default Engine problem

First thing did you buy a 7GME that is the same year as your car. If Not that is probably why you have problem.

I own 1987 Supra with a 7GME engine, I have done som major repairs. But if you are thinking of putting a completely differnt engine in you will have more problems than you have now.

The supra manual has complete wiring diagrams, which should be of help to you.

they said it was a newer one but they kept telling me that it would make the swap up until the 1992 model yr. if i just swapped the head off my old one to the new block would that solve the problem?

If you are talking about the temperatrue sensors around the thermostat housing, you can use or move your old ones. Use a small amount of teflon paste or thin tape. Don't over tighten. Its easy to crack the aluminum here. Even the rear thermostat housing itself unbolts from the block. You will need a new gasket or silicone.

U have no idea why this is in the FAQ (or why Bru is posting replies in a year old thread. LOL). Thread moved to the MKIII section.
