Default I need tons of help with my 88 supra

Ok, i was walking down a friends street and this guy has an automatic 1988 supra non turbo with only 87,000 miles on it..and he bought it new so there was only one owner.I picked it up for only 1500 bux.

I need tons of help with this because its my first supra, but im trying to find exactly what parts i need to convert this to a 5 speed, and also if i should just look for a new engine that is the turbo one, or just buy a turbo...ive hurd the turbo and non turbo engines have alot of differences about them, and im really confused.

HELP A NOOBIE.

HELP A NOOBIE.

Quite honestly.. I would find a 5 speed and sell the auto.. save yourself the headache. Failing that, if you can find a 5 speed with an excellent body (very rare) and crappy drivetrain... well.. you get the picture.

What you are considering is fairly advanced work (just thinking about the "noobie" part... ) If I had the info, I would put it to you, but I just wouldn't consider it with a Supra. Maybe thats just me. : )

Good luck if you go with it though!

I once converted a 300zx auto into a manual. First of all you need a manual tranny, clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal, you might need to cut the brake pedal a bit to allow room for the clutch pedal, (might need) a custom drive shaft for supra not sure but needed it for the 300zx, might need to convert some wires.

The ecu should work fine with the manual tranny. These are only from the top of my head. Hope it helps :P
