figured id try another forum since everyone on mine seems to be stumped. i have an 86.5 supra that i dropped a jdm 7mgte out of a 87-88 supra in. the swap came with engine wiring harness transmission computer and igniter. all i had to do was drop it in. well i did that. everything is connected and i have no spark. the coils tested good. the cam sensor tested good as well. i replaced the igniter and still no spark. someone have any ideas?

Test for voltage at the coil. If there is no voltage going in to the coil, there obviously won't be any spark coming out. Pull off the distributor cap, is the rotor in place?
Best way to test for spark is to pull out a spark plug, insert spark plug into mouth with plug wire still connected, have a friend turn over the engine. If you spit the spark plug out, you got spark. lol ![]() VT247 |

The coils should get a signal from the computer telling them when to fire. Have you checked for signal when the engine is turning over?

What sensor tells the computer when to give the coils a signal on the motor you have installed? Is it a cam position sensor? A Crank sensor? Check for proper voltage out at that location with the engine turning over. Another thought is to make sure you have all your grounds. Computers and sensors don't act right without a good ground.
