It RUNS AND DRIVES! YAAA HOOOEY! Man does this thing have some low down torque. 1st gear is way to low though. I'll be switching out the 4.33 open diff for a 3.73 LSD unit soon. Still need the front glass and the exhaust. The driveshaft was only $129, not bad at all. Here are a few more pics of the engine bay.

looks like it was mean to be ( well almost) lol too bad you didnt get a chance to beat on it a bit with the 7mgte in it, i bet you would have been very suprised at the get-up-and-go. maybe there is a race in order??? haha.

Oh I can't WAIT tell I pull up next to another MKIII or MKIV! They'd better have some serious modifications for it to even be a race. I raced a modified '87 Grand National (Turbo 3.8 liter) when I had this motor in my Corvette. Spanked him pretty bad.

Man as much as I hate people putting V8s in supras I must say looks like you did a good job. Ive always been a big fan of straight 6s cause there light powerful as hell and they look amazing in the engine bay. When people hear I have a straight 6 under the hood there freak out because in California most people drive piece of shit mustang 5.0s and crappy ass civics. As far as the V8 vortect ive never seen one but I have a feeling even with all the power its gonna be too heavy unless you carbon fiber most of the car and do weight redux.

hey man...the conversion is a sweet set up...congrats...i must be the only person who actually thinks that it was an awesome idea hahaha.
the 8 with all its torque will pull this heavy car no worries, n considerin its a worked 1 at that, it will barely feel it lol ...the only thing i reckon would have been better...is if your old project would hav been a hemi hahaha... but now your car wont jus look the part, it will sound it to...i mean the cars looks scream muscle...and now the motor jus emphasises it i think. ...its cool that its somethin different...i mean all these ppl sayin u should hav chucked a 1uz in it...but where is the fun in that?...thats been over-done, to many ppl hav done it already...now this is somethin new...who knows, u mite hav jus inspired a v8 conversion over here in Australia ![]() nice work man and congrats again on your awesome job...and you gave some good info for the next person =] |
