Hi.
I am using Motul 300V competition, full synthetic, competition oil. It is a 15W50, above existing standards.
With it you should be carefull not to WOT till the engine is at normal operation temperature, but after that.... WooOt.
I used to run on semisynthethic oil (10W40) or somethingm and I was putting almost 1/2 l oil for 1 l gas , not to say it ruined my crankshaft bearings.
but this is just me.

There's a lot more wrong with your car than just the oil weight...


Toyota only recommends 20W-50 for the HOTTEST environments for a reason... I'm not going to get into this here though. There's a TON of info on oil and what weights fit your needs the best over at supramania.com.

Well, if you live somewhere cold I would use the 5w-20 remember (ei. 10W is the thickness when you pour the oil, or in your case 5W, and the 20 is the molecular strength of the oil.

Alot of very wrong things have been stated.... about oil here.....
