hehe, I'm glad I got you thinking! have you already put the motor back together? I'm guessing not, but I could only assume that you would need a wider than stock HG. Since most places only give mm measurements, you may want to get ahold of a digital inside micrometer. Boring the 7M seems to be so common anywhere that sells the gaskets should be able to tell you what you need if you give them the details on what you've had done. Good luck to both of us!

if you have a 7mge y dont you build it a high compression monster instead of going with bigger head gaskets. go withsomthing smaller and real strong. run 94 poctane or better. car will sound nice and run realy nice. i knw 2 guys that did it. its pretty fast for an N/A. just dont decide to put a turbo in the long run.big trouble

I don't have time to tear into the motor to do any high comp mods. I'm just trying to get it running. I just ordered an 84x1.0mm HKS bead type mhg from horsepowerfreaks.com

if im not mistaken i think the 7ms are 86mm bore. jus make sure u get the write one. hks is really good. but u have to machine head and block. its a must or else you have a good chance of leaking.

I talked to Branden at horsepowerfreaks, and he told me they were 84 stock, so I went with that. 86 is a very common size cause lots of people bore the block when they rebuild them. I did have the head machined, but with the engine in the car, kinda hard to have that machined... I'll just do the best I can with a piece of machined steel and some good sand paper.

thanx for the info about the bore size. im in the same situation as you are about the head gasket. i pulled out my head cost me 400$ to machine and 3angle valve job. my block looks good and the pistons are like gold inside no ridge, so i decided to leave the block and just clean it. but im not sure if the metal head gasket will seal any small scratches.bc when you mahcine it you get back a smooth finish then itll seal. so i ddint want to risk it so im going with copper head gasket.if you have any advice let me knw.

if you do it safe it wouldnt. but you cant pound it like a turbo engine. u need turbo inectors, lower compression, good fuel at all times.i would just go with the turbo motor to be safe and lose money at the end.
