Petrol Gauge Sender Supra Mk3

I have just installed 1 jz engine to replace my 7m engine of my Mk 3 supra. The transfer include all wiring and dash board (digital reading). Everything works except the fuel gauge does not work. The mechanic told me that i need to get a digital petrol gauge sender for the digital gauge, as the original sender s not campatible with the digital gauge. Can anyone please tell me if his is true. If so, where can i get this sender unit. Thanks.
